The gap
Most site changes announce themselves to nobody.
Uptime monitors tell you when a site is down. These are the things that happen while it stays up.
Injected scripts
A script you did not add starts loading on your pages. It can arrive through a compromised plugin, an old admin account, or a tag someone added months ago. The page looks the same to you.
Layouts that break after an update
A plugin updates overnight and a template stops rendering the way it did. The page still returns a 200, so an uptime monitor has nothing to report.
Certificates that expire
A TLS certificate or a domain renewal passes its date. Visitors see a browser warning before the registrar’s notice reaches your inbox.
How it works
Three steps, then it runs on its own.
- 01
It picks your key pages
On activation Comnive takes your homepage and up to five pages from your primary menu. Add or remove URLs whenever you like.
- 02
It scans daily
Each scan fetches the page, strips per-load noise such as nonces and asset versions, then compares the result against the last snapshot. Daily by default; the schedule is configurable.
- 03
It emails what changed
You get a line-level diff, the change classified by severity, and a one-click link to acknowledge it. Your own edits are not alerts.
Free vs Pro
What each version covers.

FAQ
Questions.
- Does it slow my site?
- No. Scans run in the background on a schedule and request your pages the way a visitor would. Nothing is added to the front end, so a visitor’s page load is unaffected.
- Does it work with caching plugins?
- Yes. Comnive reads what a visitor actually receives, so a cached response is the right thing to compare. Per-load values such as nonces, timestamps and asset version strings are stripped before comparison, so cache churn on its own does not register as a change.
- What counts as a change?
- Changes are classified by severity: script injected, iframe injected, external domain added, meta changed, redirect, structure changed, content changed, minor. You set the minimum severity that triggers an immediate email. The weekly digest summarises the whole period separately. Edits made by a logged-in user are recorded as owner edits and acknowledged automatically.
- Do I need Pro?
- No. The free plugin covers source diffs, stale content flagging, expiry reminders and the weekly digest for up to 25 URLs per site. Pro is for people who need longer history, an activity log, SMS alerts, or reporting across client sites.
- What if I manage client sites?
- Pro adds a multisite dashboard, white-label emails, client reports and CSV export, and licences are available for 10, 50 or 150 sites. Alerts can go to your inbox rather than the client’s.
- Is my data sent anywhere?
- No. Comnive runs on your own server. There are no accounts and no tracking, and nothing leaves the site except the emails and webhooks you configure.
